Help Haiti And Get A Great Deal

Starting at on January 20th,  Drivethrurpg and RPGnow will be selling the Gamers Helping Haiti bundle on their web sites. This collection of PDF products from dozens of different companies sells for only $20 and contains products with a retail value totalling over $1,000. All proceeds from sales fo the bundle will go directly to the Haitian relief efforts.

Hex has contributed two of our products, QAGS Second Edition and the Book of Dumb Tables, to the bundle. Also included in the bundle are products for Pathfinder, D20, Savage Worlds, and Spycraft, plus many others, including the Serenity Core Rulebook and a Dork Tower collection.

If you've already donated to the Gamers Help Haiti program, you'll get credit for your previous donation in the form of a coupon for the bundle in the amount you've already contributed.

Update 01/20/10: Looks like the Drivethru and RPGnow servers are getting hit pretty hard with the response. They were down for a while this morning and are still running a little slow. If you're having trouble getting through, keep trying. The bundle will be availalbe until the end of the month. I just checked a few minutes ago and it looks like the Gamers Help Haiti fund just broke the $20,000 mark!

Also, thanks to everyone who's helped to spread the word, and especially those of you who mentioned QAGS in the short list of cool stuff in the bundle.

Update 01/21/10: The total hit $50,000 sometime this morning!

Update 01/22/10: Now over $90,000. Keep spreading the word so we can take it to $100K andbeyond.

Update 01/23/10: Over $100,000 now. Wow.

Update 01/29/10: $163,000 and change. Offer ends Sunday, so get it now if you haven't already!

Update 02/05/10: Just got an email where they announced the total: $178,900.

Below is a list of all the companies that participated in the bundle. Buying stuff from a few of them at regular price would be a great way of thanking them for donating their products.

Happilyeverafter Now Available

Hex Games launches its aggressive 2010 release schedule with Happilyeverafter, a game where pimps mingle with princesses, where “Little Red Riding Hood” meets The Maltese Falcon.

The ads make it all look so slick. “Bored with your humdrum existence in Fairytaleland? Come experience the wonder of Happilyeverafter. And remember: what happens in Happilyeverafter stays in Happilyeverafter.” Notice how they don’t mention the seedier side of this pixie-dust
paradise? That’s where you come in, ‘cause Happilyeverafter is your beat.

Happilyeverafter is a fairytale noir game designed for use with the QAGS Second Edition rules. It includes descriptions of the city, GM tips on running a fairytale noir game, a GMC Cast Assignment Sheet, and the sample adventure “The Honeydaddy Affair.”

Happilyeverafter–as well as the QAGS rulebook, Funkadelic Frankenstein on the Mean Streets of Monstertown, Laser Ponies, and more--can be purchased in PDF form at www.hexgames.com and at the finer PDF sales sites.

For those who would like to sample QAGS before they buy it, the QAGS Qik Start Rules, which include everything you need to play Happilyeverafter, are available for download at www.hexgames.com, absolutely free.

Happilyeverafter is written by Hex’s scholar of the unusual Ian Engle, and illustrated by the multi-talented Joshua LH Burnett.

Hex Games Releases Necro Klepto!
Now that the holiday season is upon us again, what could be better than gathering together with loved ones around steaming mugs of cocoa and playing a board game? The problem, of course, is that you’re sick of all your old board games, and you don’t particularly want to get in your car and drive to some overpriced specialty shop to buy a new game. Isn’t there some way to get an inexpensive new board game from the comfort of your own home?

Yes, Virginia, there is. For only 99 cents you can purchase Necro Klepto, the new board game from Hex Games (in partnership with Atomic Turtle Games). Download the game, print out the board, and you’re ready for a night of fun, fellowship, and imaginary grave robbery.

Not long ago, adventurous men and women broke into graveyards, stole bodies, and sold them to anatomists for cold hard cash. Back in those days, grave robbers didn't need any fancy high-tech equipment--just a torch to light the way, a key to the cemetery gates, a shovel to dig up
the grave, and a crowbar to pry open the coffin. With Necro Klepto, you and your friends can take on the role of competing grave robbers and relive those magical times!

Necro Klepto contains a game board, complete rules, and 16 item cards. In order to play the game, you need a token for each player and a six-sided die.

Necro Klepto can be purchased at www.hexgames.com, as well as the finer PDF sales sites.

Download More Character Sheets. Have More Fun!
Just finished updating our Downloads section. In addition to the much-requested Laser Ponies character sheet, you can now also download sheets for Qerth, Fort High, and Rasslin'. There are also some really cool Fort High wallpapers that Joshua LH Barnett put together for us. Enjoy!

Laser Ponies & M-Force

No, it's not the most ill-advised crossover ever, just another roundup of Hex-related goodness to be found on the internet. First off, Berin Kinsman (aka Uncle Bear ) has posted a short review of Laser Pones at Drivethrurpg and a more in-depth review at Examiner.com .

In other news, even though it's currently out of print (though we are working on the 2nd edition), it's nice to hear that a few people remember M-Force. The All Games Considered folks gave it a brief mention in their November 17th podcast (episode #118). If you want more M-Force goodness, The Gutter Skypes have aired the first session of Blindgeek's M-Force Skype game (in which Hex artist and writer Joshua LH Burnett happens to be a player).
